License File
The license file (IVSLicense.ilf
) is an important part of the coDiagnostiX software license system.
It contains an encrypted list of eToken dongles that are allowed to work with coDiagnostiX.
If no license file can be found or if the current dongle has no entry in the list of valid dongles,
coDiagnostiX will not start and will show a notification instead, that no dongle is connected.
This might be the case, if a customer receives a replacement dongle without a corresponding new license file. coDiagnostiX will not open up until a correct license file containing the replacement dongle is installed. Current license files can be obtained through the coDiagnostiX production in Munich/Graefelfing when the replacement dongle is sent out or through the coDiagnostiX 2nd Level Support.
Installing a license file is a one-click-process, if coDiagnostiX 7 or newer is installed.
Windows then recognizes files with the extension .ilf
as coDiagnostiX license files and automatically installs it,
when the file is double clicked. If there are several computers running coDiagnostiX with the same dongle
(e.g. in a network environment), the license file needs to be executed on every computer separately.
A notification will confirm the successful installation.
If the installation is not successful (e.g. due to insufficient user privileges or if a coDiagnostiX version prior to version 7 is installed), the license file needs to be replaced manually.
The coDiagnostiX license file that is currently used is always located in the coDiagnostiX Program Files path. Depending on the Windows Edition, the path is either
- 32-Bit Windows
C:\Program Files\Straumann\coDiagnostiX
- 64-Bit Windows
C:\Program Files (x86)\Straumann\coDiagnostiX
To replace the license file, just copy the new IVSlicense.ilf
and paste it into the coDiagnostiX folder overwriting the old one.
